DeKalb March for Immigrants

  • NIU Campus 199 Carroll Avenue DeKalb, IL, 60115 United States (map)

This march began as a grassroots movement led by Hispanic leaders who wanted to speak up and bring others into the movement. Community members, organizers, and allies have come together to stand in solidarity with all immigrants in DeKalb, including those from often-overlooked countries.

We will gather at 1:30 p.m. at the NIU parking garages and begin marching at 2 p.m. along Lincoln Highway (Route 38) to 1st Street (Peace Corner).

Afterward, individuals will have the opportunity to share their stories and statements of support.

Multiple churches, a coalition of NIU students and staff, and other groups have already joined, and we invite all who stand for immigrant rights to take part.
